Lutheran Evangelical Christian Church - Japan

Brief History

Mission work was first begun in Japan in 1951. The Church Council in Japan was formed April 9, 1962. Less than three weeks later the Delegate Church Council accepted the incorporation papers of the Lutheran Evangelical Christian Church of Japan (LECC) and by the end of the summer all regal matters were resolved.

The LECC ordained its first national pastor in 1963. In March 2003 one seminary student completed his study and accepted a call to one of the eight congregations of the LECC. Now the LECC has five national pastors. The LECC started outreach through a radio program in the mid 1960's.
