Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Peru
The Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Peru was started as a mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 1968.
The work of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Peru is located in Lima, Chimbote; Andes Mountains of Ancash, Amazon jungle area around Tarapoto.
The Church’s twelve clergy (plus a similar number of vicars) were educated at its Seminary in Lima. The Church’s educational program also includes extension seminary programs in outlying areas, two elementary schools in Lima, and three more elementary schools and a high school in the jungle. The Peruvians are preparing to host the 2014 CELC convention.
